The ABR15RT is a “two-in-one” device. Primarily, it acts as a Fall Arrester, allowing a worker to move up and down a ladder or manhole with a self-retracting lifeline that stops a fall instantly. If the worker becomes incapacitated, the integrated winch is engaged to safely crank them back to the surface.

How does the “Retrieval” function differ from a standard winch?

A standard winch is for lowering and raising only. The ABR15RT is a Rescue Winch that stays in “Fall Arrest” mode (passive) during normal operation. It is only switched to “Winch” mode (active) in an emergency, giving workers freedom of movement with the security of a mechanical hoist backup.

Why is the “Bracket” included as part of the kit?

The bracket is the critical interface that allows the ABR15RT to be securely side-mounted to the Abtech TO3 Tripod leg. This positioning is ergonomic for the supervisor, allowing them to operate the rescue handle comfortably while maintaining a clear view of the worker inside the confined space.
