Radiodetection Standard Sonde

The Radiodetection Standard 33kHz Sonde (10/SONDE-STD-33) is a self-contained transmitter used to locate non-conductive pipes and ducts. Measuring 39mm x 105mm, it connects to a Flexrod or drain rod and offers a 5-meter depth range. Powered by a single AA battery, it provides 20 hours of continuous signal for accurate tracing.

  • Compact Plastic Conduit Tracing: Emits a strong omnidirectional signal to locate non-metallic ducting runs from inside the pipeline.
  • Standard 33kHz Output Signal: Matches perfectly with standard cable avoidance tools for seamless integration into existing fleets.
  • Robust Threaded Base Mount: Features a solid connector end to screw securely onto standard drainage rods or cobra reels.
  • Waterproof O-Ring Sealing: Rated to withstand constant immersion in sewer lines and muddy water without short-circuiting.

FAQs

Radiodetection Standard Sonde
Can we hire this unit for short-term projects?
Yes, the Radiodetection Standard Sonde is available for flexible short-term or long-term hire, providing an affordable way to trace non-metallic pipes on your current contract.
Radiodetection Standard Sonde
What is the primary function of the Radiodetection Standard Sonde?
The Standard Sonde is a compact, battery-powered transmitter that is inserted into a non-metallic pipe, duct, or drain, allowing its exact path to be tracked from above ground using a locator.
Radiodetection Standard Sonde
What frequency does this sonde transmit?
It transmits a standard 33kHz signal, making it fully compatible with the vast majority of utility locators, including the Radiodetection CAT4 and RD8200 series.
Radiodetection Standard Sonde
How do you move the sonde through a buried pipe network?
It features an M10 male threaded end that allows it to be screwed directly onto standard flexible drainage rods, duct push rods, or motorized camera inspection snakes.
Radiodetection Standard Sonde
What is the maximum depth range of the Standard Sonde?
When used with a compatible Radiodetection receiver, the 33kHz signal can be accurately detected and depth-measured down to approximately 5 metres in standard ground conditions.
Radiodetection Standard Sonde
What battery type does it use and how long does it last?
The sonde operates on a single standard AA alkaline battery, which delivers roughly 20 hours of continuous signal transmission on the jobsite.
Radiodetection Standard Sonde
Is the sonde waterproof and rugged enough for sewer use?
Yes, it is housed in a robust, heavy-duty casing that is fully waterproof and rated to
