Main purposes of job

As a Hire Desk Controller, you will be the crucial link between our clients, the

engineering team, and the transport department. Your role ensures that the right equipment is available and delivered to customer sites on time, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Enquiries: Handle hire enquiries via telephone, email, and online ordering system.
  • Product Availability: Monitor and update product availability statuses in the system.
  • Coordination: Work closely with engineering and transport teams to ensure timely preparation and delivery of equipment.
  • Communication: Serve as a friendly and helpful point of contact for depot
  • Enquiries, ensuring effective communication with colleagues and customers.

  • Achieve agreed performance targets.
  • Deliver projects within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Maintain service standards and quality benchmarks.
  • Contribute to team and organisational objectives.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Industry Experience: Prior experience in Customer Service and Hire Desk
  • Equipment or Material Handling industries.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Health and Safety

  • Lead by example in promoting safe working practices and behaviours.
  • Ensure health and safety is treated as a core operational priority within the depot.
  • Communicate safety expectations clearly to all staff, contractors, and visitors.
  • Encourage reporting of hazards, near misses, unsafe acts, and incidents.
